CORSICANA, TX- The Navarro College Volleyball team swept Lee College in their second to last home match of the 2021-2022 season. Box scores were 26-24, 25-9, 26-24.  

The Bulldogs have one last home match this Thursday, October 28th, in the SEC where they will honor their Sophomores. Free Chick Fil A sandwiches will be available for the first fans to arrive. Game time starts at 6 PM CST.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set   
The Bulldogs and Lady Rebels battled for the lead with multiple ties in the match. The first tie came at 7-7 before the Dawgs took a 3-0 run starting with an ace by freshman defensive specialist, Lilouann Bechec. Three more ties would come about at 13-13, 14-14 and 16-16. The Lady Rebels had a 3-0 run of their own to take a 17-20 lead late in the set. A kill by sophomore outside, Lauren Tishkoff, gave some momentum for the Dawgs to come back in an tie the score up 20-20. Lee College took their first time out of the set at 21-20. A timeout was taken by the Bulldogs as well and another tie ensued at 21-21. The last tie of the set would come at 23-23 before sophomore opposite, Ana Beatriz Nunes Dos Santos, would give the Dawgs back-to-back kills to take the set. 
 
Second Set
The Bulldogs started strong at a 6-2 lead before a timeout was taken by the Lady Rebels. The Dawgs would keep the lead throughout the set as the Lady Rebels crept back in a t 7-5 before the Dawgs went on a 3-1 scoring run. At 14-6 the Lady Rebels took their second and final timeout for the set. A 5-0 run gave the Dawgs the spacing they wanted to dominate the second set. Another 5-0 run would give the set to the Dawgs to be up 2-0 in the match. 

Third Set
Another fight of a set ensued as the Lady Rebels took an early lead at 3-5. Lee College kept a three point lead until a tie at 14-14. Another back and forth tie continued four more times before the score became 22-22. Lauren Tishkoff came out with a kill to force the Lady Rebels into a timeout. The last tie of the match came at 24-24 before a service error by the Lady Rebels gave the Dawgs the set and match to sweep Lee College.
