'Dawgs Crush NTCC For 3rd Straight Shutout Win

Rafiatu Alhassan's hat trick, Manami Okada's two goals, plus four Laura Jansa assists sparked Navarro (4-2) to a 9-0 Region XIV Soccer victory Tuesday over Northeast Texas at The Roark Montgomery Soccer Complex.
 
Six players scored for coach Alicia Wilson's 11th-ranked Bulldogs, including Guinevere Borja, with her third goal of the season, plus first goals by Rosa Hansen, Diana Godoy, and Laia Gonzalez.
 
Alhassan, now with a team-high six goals, became the second NC player to record a hat trick this season, joining Lacey Ann Murray, who accomplished the feat during a 7-0 win over NTCC at Mount Pleasant on April 25.
 
Alhassan scored twice off Jansa feeds during the first 10 minutes of the match. Okada's first goal, coming in the 33rd minute, gave NC a 3-0 halftime lead.
 
Jansa also assisted on goals by Borja at 61 minutes, and by Godoy at the 69-minute mark.
 
NC, winner of three straight matches and all four victories by shutout, is scheduled to play at 2 pm Wednesday at Paris against the Dragons at Noyes Stadium.
