Navarro shook off the rust from a month-long holiday layoff and rang in 2025 with a come-from-behind 80-69 Region XIV win over the Lamar State-Port Arthur Seahawks here Saturday, January 4th.

Sophomore guard Jalen Griffith's team-high 16 points, eight rebounds and two assists triggered a 54-point second half as the Bulldogs erased as much as a 12-point deficit.  Griffith dropped eight consecutive points that thrust NC  into its first lead of the game (60-58) with about six minutes to play.

Freshman Elijah Mitchell cane off the bench with 12 points and four rebounds as coach Grant McMillan's Bulldogs (9-4 / 3-2) took charge of the game and improved to 5-1 at Lewis Orr Court this season.

Dorel Reese poured in a personal-season high 26 as coach Lance Madison's Seahawks (4-9 / 1-4) dropped their second straight conference game and lost for the seventh time in the last eight outings.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to play Blinn (6-7 / 2-3) at Brenham on Wednesday before returning home Saturday for a 4 PM match against seventh-ranked Panola (11-2 / 4-1).
