Corsicana, TX - The Navarro Volleyball team recently participated in the Midland College Kickoff Classic Tournament, where the team went 3-1 to start the season.  The Bulldogs started out with a 3-0 sweep of Hill College.  Navarro fell to Midland College in their second match, but rebounded to go 2-0 on the second day of the tournament, beating Vernon College and New Mexico Junior College.  The Bulldogs had a number of strong performances on the weekend, but two players were chosen to the All-Tournament team for their efforts.

Freshman Akani Kikuchi was named to the All-Tournament team and was in a 3-way time for MVP of the tournament.  Kikuchi is an outside hitter from Japan.  Sophomore Patience Gibson was also named to the All-Tournament team.  Pat is the Bulldog's libero, and is from Royse City, TX.  She played at Dallas College Eastfield, where she won a national championship before transferring to Navarro.
