Navarro Volleyball put together a strong week, earning two victories as the Bulldogs took down Lee College and then defeated No. 7-ranked Blinn College.
The Bulldogs opened the week with a 3-0 sweep over Lee College before hitting the road to face No. 7 Blinn College. Navarro battled through a competitive match against the nationally ranked Buccaneers, coming away with a 3-2 victory.
Head Coach Nickel was proud of the way his team responded, especially against a Top 10 opponent.
"Obviously, it feels great to beat a Top 10 ranked team. But even more importantly, it is great to see our team growing and learning how to deal with adversity and the challenges of playing on the road," Coach Nickel said.
The win over Blinn College also served as a reminder of what the Bulldogs are capable of when they trust their preparation and play together.
While the Bulldogs had several players step up throughout the match, Nickel emphasized that the victory was a complete team effort. "That's what we've been stressing all season. We have a team-first approach, and when everyone puts the team first, good things happen."
The Bulldogs have continued to find more consistency as the season progresses, and the success of the past week has helped build confidence within the team.
With two wins now behind them, the Bulldogs know the work continues. "Region XIV is extremely competitive this year, so every match is going to be important. We have to continue learning and growing from our experiences to get to where we want to be," Nickel said.
Navarro Volleyball will hit the road this week on Monday, September 21, at 6 p.m. against Collin County, and on Thursday, September 24, at 6 p.m against #15 Trinity Valley.
