August 23, 2023 - Torry Johnson has joined Coach Grant McMillan’s Navarro Basketball staff as a new second assistant.
Johnson served as a graduate assistant at UNLV and at Wake Forest University (2018-20), where he played two seasons after transferring from Northern Arizona University.
“I’ve known Torry for a long time and watched him grow up,” McMillan said. “His dad, Terry, is one of the most influential high school coaches in Illinois. He (Torry) has been around really good players and will help our guys grow.”
The Chicago native averaged about six points during two seasons with the Demon Deacons pf the Atlantic Coast Conference after leading NAU Lumberjack scorers with 11.5 per game in the 2017-18 campaign.
Johnson replaces C.J. White, who became an assistant at Southern Nazarene University.
