Esmie Gonzales - Soccer 2025-2026

Esmie Gonzales

Esmie Gonzales enters her fourth year as an Assistant Coach and her first season at Navarro College.

Before joining Navarro, Gonzales served as an Assistant Coach at Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) from 2022 to 2024. During her tenure, SEMO qualified for the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Tournament in all three seasons. She played a key role in player development, helping athletes earn notable postseason honors, including OVC Freshman of the Year, All-OVC First Team, and All-Newcomer Team selections.
From 2021 to 2023, Gonzales also worked as a Graduate Assistant for the SEMO program. In her first season in that role, the team advanced to the OVC Tournament semifinals.

As a player, Gonzales had a standout career at SEMO from 2016 to 2019, setting multiple program records. She was a three-time All-OVC First Team selection and also earned All-OVC Second Team and All-Newcomer Team honors. She was named to the OVC All-Tournament Team in both 2017 and 2019.

Gonzales finished her collegiate career with 28 goals and 12 assists, tying the program record for game-winning goals (12) and setting records for shots attempted (223) and shots on goal (109). She remains among SEMO’s top five career leaders in goals. In her final season, she helped lead SEMO to its first OVC title since 2014.

Before her collegiate career, Gonzales starred at South Hills High School, where she scored 316 career goals, becoming the nation’s all-time leading scorer for both boys’ and girls’ soccer. She also set the national and Texas single-season goal-scoring record with 109 goals as a senior.
