Davenport begins his first season as the head coach of the Navarro College Women's Soccer program. He previously served as the head coach for both the men’s and women’s programs at Hill College between 2011-2024.
During his tenure at Hill College Soccer, Davenport established Hill Soccer as a regional and nationally respected program. Hill College Soccer achieved the following during Davenport’s tenure: 15 combined Region V titles, 5 District titles, 8 trips to the NJCAA National Championship tournament and 14 NJCAA All-Americans.
Davenport was named the Plains District Coach of the Year in 2014, 2015, 2023, 2024 and Region V Coach of the Year in 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024. He was the only coach in the nation to manage both men's and women’s soccer programs to Regional Championships in 2014.
The women’s program at Hill had the longest Region Championship streak in the nation 11 straight between 2014-2024. The program also during that time produced 10 straight Region V Player of the Year winners, 10 straight Region V Championship MVPs, 12 NJCAA All-Americans and had the longest 1st team All-American awardee in the nation between 2019-2024. Between 2015-2024 the program also went undefeated in all Region V competition. The following program records were also established during Davenport’s tenure: most goals scored, fewest goals against, best record, highest NJCAA National Ranking, Highest NJCAA National Tournament Seed and the programs first NJCAA District Championship with their first NJCAA National Championship Tournament Appearance. The women’s team won 3 NJCAA District Championships and qualified for the NJCAA National Championship Tournament 5 times.
The men’s program at Hill College during Davenport’s tenure also achieved program records for the following: most wins, fewest losses, most goals scored, fewest goals against, highest NJCAA National Ranking, first ever Region V Championship, first ever NJCAA District Championship, first ever NJCAA National Championship Tournament, first ever NJCAA All-American. Hill College Men were 1 of only 3 schools in the nation to have qualified for 3 consecutive NJCAA National Championship Tournaments between (2014-2016). In addition, the men’s program had 4 Region V Player of the Year winners, 4 Region V Championship MVPs and 2 NJCAA All-Americans. Region V Champions 4 times with 2 NJCAA District Championships and qualified for the NJCAA National Championship Tournament 3 times.
Davenport’s collegiate coaching experience began at Texas Christian University where he served as Director of Operations for the women’s soccer team from 2008-2010. In 2011, he was named assistant coach at TCU before taking the job at Hill College. He was able to learn under Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year Dan Abdalla.
Originally from Irving, Texas, Davenport attended Texas A&M-Commerce University where he was on the football team for a year before becoming a volunteer assistant with the women’s soccer program. He received his bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration and later received his master’s degree in Educational Administration from TCU.
