CARTHAGE -- Tytan Newton's game-high 23 points led four Panola players in double-figure scoring as the Ponies held on to defeat Navarro.
Panola opened as much as an 18-point lead (50-32 at half) before the Bulldogs battled back within 63-61 with about eight minutes left.
Drue Drinnon, making his first appearance of the season, led Navarro scorers with 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Drinnon accounted for both of Navarro's three-pointers as the 'Dawgs shot 41 percent from the floor.
Coach Grant McMillan's Bulldogs return home Wednesday for a 7 pm conference battle with the Trinity Valley Cardinals on Lewis Orr Court at The Wolens Special Events Center.
