CORSICANA, TX- Navarro College Volleyball (7-5) swept Trinity Valley Community College (13-8) this past Tuesday (28-26, 25-21, 25-22).

The Dawgs competed against the Cardinals at home in the SEC on Tuesday night amongst a sea of Navarro students including the Navarro College Band and Navarro College Cheer. The match was neck and neck in the first set with each team battling for the lead before NC closed out winning 28-26. The crowd was roaring from the start with NC taking the lead in sets two and three. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set   
There were multiple ties between the Bulldogs and Cardinals before TVCC went on a 3-0 run and ending it on a missed serve. Three aces by TVCC forced an NC timeout. The Dawgs came out strong with a 3-0 run of their own to get back into the set at 20-20. Navarro fought hard coming from behind to take the set 28-26. 
 
Second Set
Navarro kept the momentum with four kills within the first ten points of the set. A service error by NC would give the Cardinals control. A kill by sophomore middle blocker, Wiktoria Warpechowska, followed by an ace would give the Dawgs the boost to take control of the set. An error by the Cardinals and a kill by freshman outside, Tjasa Malnar, woudl force a timeout by TVCC. Back to back blocks by sophomore outside, Lauren Tishkoff, and freshman middle blocker, Nia Mack, put the Dawgs up 24-19. A service error by TVCC put Navarro up 2-0. 

Third Set
Navarro came out strong by going up two points and taking the lead with its' biggest point difference at 17-9. The Cardinals were able to narrow that lead down by forcing errors on the Dawgs. Freshman libero, Alessia Sonzini, served up a couple aces and some big effort plays came from right back from freshman setter, Eline Fieremans, and freshman outside, Maria Eduarda Dudao. The Dawgs captured the last set (25-22) and match.

UP NEXT
The Dawgs (2-1) will take on nationally ranked(#14) conference opponent Panola College (6-1) at home in the SEC at 6 PM CST.
