Freshman Zoe Nelson's tie-breaking, unassisted goal at 66' rewarded coach Alicia Wilson's 'Dawgs with a chewy, tasty treat after turning back their chief rivals and extending their unbeaten streak to 10 matches.
Navarro's ninth consecutive win snapped a five-match winning streak for coach Corey Rose's Apache Ladies (10-2/5-1), who suffered their second one-goal loss of the season to a Top-8 opponent (1-0 loss to Hill).
Six minutes into the match, sophomore Wakana Ose directed a Constance Agyemang assist into tht net behind Tyler goalkeeper.
Curiously, Nelson and Ose scored their fourth goals of the season – all coming in the last three matches in which they played.
TJC equalized matters with 20 minutes left in the first half as sophomore forward Gabriela Thompson's eighth goal of the year ended the Navarro defense's near 655-minute scoreless streak. Thompson's goal is only the fifth yielded by NC and the first on Texas soil this year.
The Bulldogs, which have not trailed this season, conclude the first half of Region XIV North Zone play Friday at Paris with a 1:30 pm match against the Lady Dragons.

Navarro soccer ranks fourth in assists (46), and corner kicks (65), seventh in goal scoring (48), eighth in shots per game (21.5) and ninth in shots on goal (125).
