Emily Witt, ETAMU Asst VB Coach 2025

Women's Volleyball ETAMU Staff Reports

Emily Witt Named VB Assistant at ETAMU

COMMERCE – East Texas A&M University volleyball coach Joe Morales has added Emily Witt as the program's assistant coach going into the 2025 season.

Witt joins the Lion volleyball program after serving as the volleyball coach for Northwest High School in Wichita, Kansas, and the head coach for the KNVBC Showtime Volleyball club in Wichita. She has also worked with the Shockwave Volleyball Academy in Wichita as a head coach.

"I am thrilled with the addition of Emily Witt to our staff," remarked Morales. "Emily is a competitor and has proven that from her playing days. She is a winner, and I am excited to see that quality transform into coaching."

"I cannot wait for the fall to work with her; she will bring an offensive mind with a hustle mentality to our players and program. She will also be a great mentor to our young women in this sport and allow them to grow and excel not only on the court but in life."

Despite spending the last two years in Kansas, Witt is no stranger to the Lone Star State as she began her collegiate volleyball career at Navarro College and finished her playing career at Texas A&M-Kingsville, where Morales was an assistant coach at the time. She also played at Arkansas-Fort Smith and was the team captain for all three programs.

"I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join the program at East Texas A&M! I'm ready to hit the ground running, help develop our players and do whatever it takes to help the team not only compete but win at the highest level," said Witt. "Having played for Coach Morales, I've seen the level of excellence he expects, and I'm excited to work alongside him and help elevate this program to new heights!"

At Navarro College, she won the 2019 NJCAA Division I National Championship with the Bulldogs, after finishing seventh in 2018. She was the NJCAA assists leader in 2018 and was named to the all-National Tournament team in 2019.

For the Javelinas, Witt was twice named the Lone Star Conference Setter of the Week in 2020 as well as being the LSC Setter of the Year in 2020 as A&M-Kingsville went undefeated in the regular season and won the LSC South division championship. She was the conference leader in assists per set and was named the 2021 Preseason LSC Setter of the Year.

Witt received her associate degree in science from Navarro College and her bachelor's of science in interdisciplinary studies from A&M-Kingsville.
