Carolina Barbosa, a middle hitter from Rio de Janeiro, was named Navarro Volleyball’s first ever NJCAA All-American in 2017 when she led the Bulldogs to a 27-12 record and the Region XIV Tournament Semifinals. The first-team all-conference and all-region player hit .302 across 39 matches. Barbosa had
27 matches with double-figure kills and seven double-doubles during a season in which she made 459 kills. She had 32 kills and scored 31.5 points in one match against San Jacinto – both top marks in Navarro College individual-match records during the rally-scoring era.
The two-time All-Sun Belt conference performer wrapped up her career with the Little Rock Trojans ranked No. 10 in kills per set (2.87) and in hitting percentage (.261).
