Sports Information Specialist
Mike Montfort has been a cornerstone of Navarro College athletics for decades, serving as Sports Information Specialist since 2012 while contributing to the college, Region XIV, and the Southwest Junior College Football Conference long before his official tenure. A Corsicana native and Baylor University graduate, Montfort began his career as a sports journalist with the Corsicana Daily Sun in the 1970s, covering Corsicana High School and Navarro College sports. He later joined KAND's broadcast team for Bulldog football and basketball, earning a reputation as one of the most trusted voices in junior college athletics.
Even after transitioning to a 22-year teaching career at Frost ISD, Montfort remained an integral part of Navarro broadcasts and became the "go-to-guy" for scores, statistics, and updates across Region XIV and SWJCFC. Honored as a Region XIV "Legend" in 2024 and the recipient of numerous Texas Press Association awards, Montfort's dedication, accuracy, and passion for storytelling have left an enduring legacy in junior college athletics.
